It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

First session with Me: What to expect
When you arrive: You will be greeted and given a health intake form to fill in. This will provide me with some valuable information pertaining to your current and past then do a verbal intake. During this time the two of you will discuss what your needs and goals for the session are and they can answer any questions you may have. After this intake is finished, I will exit the room and you will prepare to get on the massage table. Before getting on the table: you may disrobe as much or as little as you prefer. Many styles of massage therapy are most effective when performed directly on the skin; however, you may leave your clothing on if you prefer. Once on the table and in between the soft sheets you can relax and enjoy the peacefulness. I will come back into the room when you are completely situated on the table and make sure that you feel comfortable; adjusting anything to your liking such as the lighting, music, room temperature. As the massage begins it is your time to simply relax and gently breathe. A full body massage typically includes the back, buttocks, legs, feet, arms, hands, head, neck and face. When each area is worked on the sheet is pulled back and then respectfully replaced. If there are areas of your body that you are not comfortable with having massaged, for any reason, mention this to me. You do not need to explain or rationalize your reasons. Eventually the massage will have to end and I will again leave the room. After getting up take a moment to reflect on how you might feel different from when you arrived. If you noticed changes discuss them with me. After your session...I will thank you for the honor to work with you and look forward to massage becoming a regular part of your good health routine.
Just because massage feels like a pampering treat doesn’t mean it is any less therapeutic.
Most people know that massage is a wonderful way to relieve stress or just enjoy the luxury of being touched. Despite knowing this, many people still haven't ever received a professional massage. This FAQ will hopefully answer any questions that might be keeping them from taking that first step. If you've denied yourself the pleasure or are unsure what to expect from a massage, please read on.
Where will my massage session take place?
Your massage or bodywork session will take place in a warm, quiet comfortable and purple room. Soft music may be played to help you relax. You will lie on a table especially designed for your comfort.
What do I wear during the massage?
Depending on the primary technique I uses, you may or may not need to undress. For a full body massage, most people undress completely. However, you may choose to wear underwear. I will give you privacy to undress, and you will be covered with a sheet and blanket at all times except the area being worked on.
Will it hurt?
That depends on the type of massage and the depth of the strokes. A light massage that doesn't probe very deep into muscles shouldn't hurt. At the same time, the light massage won't be able to work out any stress that's deep within those muscles. A muscle that is relaxed will be supple and soft and won't hurt when rubbed. Muscles that are tight, and in many cases have been chronically tight for a long time, may have that "good hurt" feeling with a deeper massage. Think of that "good hurt" as the feeling you get when you stretch a sore muscle during exercise or a yawn. Muscles can be very sore from overuse or tightness, and that good hurt can become painful. A sharp pain may indicate a muscle that has been injured and has some sort of inflammation. In this case, you don't want the deep work to continue in this area. A deep massage with tight muscles may leave some residual soreness the next day. Everybody has different thresholds of pain. The depth of a stroke may not be deep enough for one person's liking and may cause pain for another. Some people want the massage as deep as possible regardless of the soreness. Others want something much lighter, to help them relax rather than deeper work that might be sore. So make your preference known to me, and give feedback at any time during a massage that the depth of the strokes is more than you'd like.
Can I talk during a massage?
The key to a massage is relaxation and allowing yourself to enjoy the experience. I will discourage you from talking during the massage. I want you to relax, to just let your mind float free, and let the massage transport you to an almost subconscious bliss. It's not uncommon for many people to be more relaxed talking. After all, you're lying undressed on a table with me touching your skin. Talking makes me, your therapist become more human and personal to you, and having this interaction makes it easier to place their trust in me, and therefore make it easier for you to relax. Many clients talk in the initial stages of a massage, and as the massage progresses, they slip farther into a state of total relaxation and become quiet. There are times when you should speak up during a massage. If anything makes you uncomfortable, bring it to my attention. If you're too cold or too hot, the room is too bright and hard on your eyes, or if you prefer the strokes to be deeper or lighter, mention it to me. Feel free to speak up, if something about the massage isn't working for you.
How will a massage feel?
It usually depends on the techniques I used. During The Works, your session may start with broad, flowing strokes (effleurage) that will help calm your nervous system and relax exterior muscle tension. As your body becomes relaxed, pressure will gradually be increased to relax specific areas and relieve areas of muscular tension. Often, a light oil or lotion is used to allow your muscles to be massaged without causing excessive friction to the skin. Do not hesitate to ask me questions or mention if you feel any discomfort so I can use another approach or technique.
Why More is Better?
Getting massage frequently can do even more. Increase the Benefits with Frequent Visits This is the beauty of bodywork. Taking part in this form of regularly scheduled self-care can play a huge part in how healthy you’ll be and how youthful you’ll remain with each passing year. Budgeting time and money for bodywork at consistent intervals is truly an investment in your health.
How long will a massage treatment last?
The average full-body massage treatment lasts approximately one hour. Many people prefer a 60 to 90 minute session for optimal relaxation. I Always allow relaxation time prior to and after the session. I also offer 2 Hours Special Deep Relaxation.
What do I do during a massage therapy treatment?
Make yourself comfortable, you can change your position anytime to make yourself more comfortable. Many people close their eyes and relax completely during a session; others prefer to talk. It's up to you. It is your massage, and whatever feels natural to you is the best way to relax. Do not hesitate to ask me questions at any time.
What's A Good Hurt?

Will the massage oils used make me break out?
I use hypoallergenic massage oils or lotions. However, if you have sensitivity to certain types of oils or lotion please bring it to my attention.
I have an assortment of oils and lotions on hand.
I have an assortment of oils and lotions on hand.
And after the massage therapy treatment?
Most people feel very relaxed. Some experience freedom from long-term aches and pains developed from tension or repetitive activity. After an initial period of feeling slowed down, people often experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity which can last for days. Since toxins are released from your soft tissues during a massage, it is recommended you drink plenty of water following your massage. I recommend a hot Epsom salt bath that encourages the release of toxins that may have been stirred up from the massage treatment.
How often should I receive a massage?
The answer here depends on the reasons for receiving the massage. If a client comes for some injury relief, and to relieve chronic tightness that is interfering with their daily lives in some way, weekly sessions may be necessary for a while to build on each session's improvement in their relief and healing. For those who use massage as preventive care and managing the daily stress in their lives, once a month is about the norm. They may shorten the time between massages during stressful periods. Some come more often just because they enjoy it that much. For most people, the frequency of the massages they receive is limited by their pocketbook. It's an unfortunate fact, but once many people realize the benefits it provides them, and the pleasure they receive from it, they find a way to incorporate a regular session into their budget.
