On my first trip to India went to live at the famous Osho Meditation Resort in Pune. I learned to meditate, it was a little weird at first. A little frustrating because I felt nothing, but I am very stubborn and continue with attempts to clear my mind. After 3 weeks I started to feel something, breathe better, I was more alert and had an almost constant sensasion of joy.
The benefits of meditation are real, but, it also requires perseverance. It is mistake to expect all these benefits in the first few attempts; the mind takes time to tame. Also, it is difficult to explain all the benefits of meditation, because it involves a state of consciousness that cannot be expressed by words.
